Outdoor Spigot is Frozen and Breaks
Freezing Temperatures Causes Flooding
Outdoor spigots can cause a lot of damage if they freeze. They break easily when frozen as it did for this homeowner. Water that was spewing out was also spewing into the home causing damage. In order to keep pipes from freezing:
- Stay alert on temperatures by having a weather application on your phone that can alert you during a freeze.
- Remove the hoses from the spigot during the winter.
- Turn off the water if you are leaving your home for more than 3 days.
